Block 67

Our second block! Another nice and simple one to ease us into the journey. I did the corner diamonds using 1/2 square triangles, but it's just as simple to use the method where you cut squares, draw a line across the diagonal and sew on the line.

One you have your corner triangles put together (Sorry, took the picture one step too soon) and sew your side stripes together, you have a 9 patch to put together.

Assemble the 9 patch and tada! your second block is done.

Block 14

Our first block. I did this one doing regular piecing. Here are all the pieces before assembly.

First I did the centre. It was done in the same style as a Courthouse Steps block.

Then I added 1/2 square triangles.

Here are the outer triangles ready to be added.

Here are the outer triangles added and trimmed down to size.

Yeah!!! Our first block is done!

Nearly Insane

For a while now I've been looking for an insane-a-long group like the jane-a-long group. There doesn't appear to be one out there. So I'm creating one!

The current plan is to post one block a week each Sunday. Any preferences for numerical order, reverse numerical order, random, something else? :)

If you're interested in joining in please leave a comment saying you'd like to join on this blog. I'll add you to the list of participants on the sidebar. Your next steps will be getting your hands on the book and choosing colours.

I'll post the first block this Sunday.

If you know of any nearly insane quilts out there, please let me know. I'd love to post more quilts for inspiration. I'll leave you with Hanne's.
