Nearing the Finish Line

We're in the final third of this quilt and I've been thinking of it quite a bit...

I've been storing all of my Nearly Insane blocks in a binder and have never seen them all set out.  I was chatting with Yvette about how light/dark our respective blocks were and started thinking....

Maybe I should be a little strategic about fabric choices with the remaining blocks....

This lead to....

The temporary design wall....

And the quilt as it stands today!!

How are you doing with your quilts?

I'm thinking that it'd be great to have a little incentive to actually put the blocks together when we're all done.  (Too often I end up making the blocks and then stopping)

So....

Once we've done all the blocks, I'll be offering some sort of give away.  It will involve pictures of our finished quilt tops (or quilts!)  Details will follow when the time comes, just consider this fair warning if you have a little catching up to do.

It is looking FABULOUS!!!!
I think I might take my binder away at Easter and have a play with the layout too. I have also started to look at other blocks before choosing colours with the last few blocks. 52 cut out and ready to go!!

Happy sewing,
Julianne.

Oh my! Your blocks look great.

I have 5 left to do but have yet to buy the sashing fabric. Since my Insane quilts aren't true to the book I am going to lay them out on how I think they look better. I may lay out both quilts completely different to get 2 looks.

Love how this all looks together in the two colours. I don't think I will be catching up anytime soon

I started with block 1, 2, 3 etc going across the quilt, and I'm up to block 28. So I'm about at the 1/4th mark--a way bit behind you! I've found your site really helpful and check it regularly. Your red/white blocks look wonderful! I'm doing mine in the original color-way as much as possible. I bet Salinda Rupp was a very fascinating person!
